Sermons In Print
From time to time, we
will post sermons of our pastors here. If you have a favorite sermon you
would like to see here, please contact the Pastor and let him know, so
that we might include it. Below you will find a small sampling of
sermons from our Pastor, Chris Curvin. Sermons are available by request
directly to the pastor preaching the sermon you wish to have in print.

"The Great Invitation"
The message focuses on the greatest
invitation you will ever make in your life… inviting Christ into
your life.
“I
want to say to you on this initial Sunday as we begin ministry
together that as long as I’m alive and standing here among you in
Northwood’s pulpit that Christ will be proclaimed as the Lord and
Savior of the world and our lives. The doors of this Church will
always be open so that the good news of Jesus Christ can be heard…
and always remember… the best years of life in Christ are before us,
not behind us!”

"Starting Over"
Have you ever had to start over again or felt like
starting over in life?
This message may
just be for you!
“Some people say, “Oh, things will never change in my situation”,
but in God’s time it is never too late to start over.”

"Favorite Word"
In the television series,
Inside the Actor’s Studio,
James Lipton has sat down with some of world's most accomplished
artists, ranging from actors and directors to musicians and
comedians - for fascinating interviews. In each episode Lipton asks
his guests to respond to the question, “What is your favorite word?
That is the question of this message.
The
poet, Emily Dickinson, once wrote… “There are two places where God
presides: One of them is in heaven and the other is in a thankful
heart. In the movie Forrest Gump, Forrest says over and over “Thank
you” to so many people. My question to you today is this, “Is
‘thanks’ your favorite word?”

"Keys For Living"
One of the keys to living you see is to
realize that there is a rhythm of life, there’s an appropriate time
for one thing and an appropriate time for another thing. God’s
timing is different than ours and the challenge for us is to
discover what time it is in our lives. This message offers several
important keys to help determine what time it is in your life.
“I’m still learning as a Christian pastor that I will always be a
lifelong student of the Bible and seek to learn to study and pray.
I’m also still learning that God’s timing is always more appropriate
than mine. Maybe you’ve learned that too.”

"If God
Removed The Rocks"
Have you ever felt like quitting or
throwing in the towel? This sermon offers some principles to help
deal with troubles when they come.
“As
many of you know by now I grew up swimming in the beautiful creeks
near Rock City, Tennessee. One of my favorite quotes over the years
is this… “The brook would lose its song if God removed the rocks.”
The sound when you walk by the creek, the brook, is a beautiful
sound. It reminds us that adversity is a part of life and faith. If
the rocks were not there the song made by them would not be heard.
God speaks to us through the song made by the rocks… the
challenges. But adversity is not the last word on today…
