Status of our Search for an Associate Pastor of Congregational Care and Mission
Updated May 7, 2008
|
Since being elected by the congregation the nominating committee for our associate pastor of
congregational care and mission has, with guidance from our clergy and your prayers,
accomplished the following:
- Developed and had approved by our Session and the Presbytery, a Church Information Form (CIF). This is the document used to “market” this position to clergy throughout the country.
- Developed an ad for this position which will appear in Presbyterian Outlook.
- Developed a process to keep track of the applicants and our interactions with them.
- Agreed on a method to rank the skills and experience of each applicant.
- Reviewed thirty-two candidates who responded, either directly by themselves or in the matching process, to our CIF.
- Identified seven candidates who we believe merit additional consideration.
- Developed a questionnaire and started the interview process.
- Identified two candidates who may be better suited to the position of associate pastor of Christian education and church life and will refer these resumes to that nominating committee.
- Responded by letter to the candidates whose skills and experience do not meet our needs.
If you are aware of a clergy member seeking a new calling whom you believe may be a good candidate for this
position, please contact one of the nominating committee members listed below.
We are grateful for your ongoing prayers and forbearance as we further examine seven promising
candidates, seek additional candidates through our ad and your referrals, and work to discern
God’s plan for this position in our church life.
